As well as physically unsafe working conditions, there are things like drug and alcohol abuse and workplace violence to consider. The law in all states of Australia is comprehensive and clear, and the penalties for breaches - both for companies and individuals - can be severe. And there's the financial burden of having employees off work for extended periods because of injuries suffered at work.
