Dorry Kordahi's career didn't get off to an auspicious start. Having failed his school certificate, he went to work for his father as a hairdresser. He dreamed of playing professional basketball (which he did, for a time) and of a career in modelling. A stint in another family business didn't work out well, though it taught him some valuable lessons. After travelling abroad, he set up his own business, from his parents' backyard shed. Now, a few short years later, he's on the BRW Young Rich List and his company, DKM Blue, is an industry leader in merchandising and marketing. He sees himself as a work in progress, and has written a book, "Power to Act", to tell the story so far and - hopefully - inspire others to learn from him, as he has learnt from others, notably his hero Sir Richard Branson.
